Today began like just another morning – cravings for coffee and power planning for a few more minutes of sleep, until I checked my mails and realized that it was far from my average days. I had not just one but three excuses to dawn the party hat, (sadly the festive feeling only lasted till I witnessed my long list of to-dos for the day). Coming back, what makes this day epic? Read on:
1. I turned 10…Professionally! Today also marks the 10th anniversary of the first day of my work life. I started off my techie career where I worked as a technical support executive in a call center. I helped HP’s customers fix their laptops over the phone. Yup, I am one of those guys who you probably spoke to, who spotted a fake American accent and claimed to be sitting in Kansas and playing ‘doctor’ to your computer. FYI: I don’t help fix laptops anymore, until it’s for my technologically challenged friends.
2. Screaming Critics – A project that got me connected to my wife turned one year old today! My wife, who was then my client, launched the website, which was on her wish list for more than half a decade, on 27th September 2012 and guess who help accomplished that dream? Yours Truly!
3. Vantage Search Auto Suggest: Now for the latest addition to my reasons of celebrating this legendary day: Drumrolls for the big news… My first ever plugin, the Vantage Search Auto Suggest, released at the Appthemes’ marketplace today! The plugin is supposed to add an Auto suggest search functionality to one of the ace themes developed by AppThemes. The launch of my first ever plug in was so overdue, and coincidently it was launched on the 27th of September 2013 as well!
Could this day BE any better (think Chandler Bing)

This is one of the best quote that I’ve read! And the timing for this quote couldn’t be better.
It was a small moment at the WordPress DC Meetup. One of the creators of WordPress, Matt Mullenweg, was in town. He had come to this monthly meeting at Fathom Creative to learn what the local community wanted in the next version of his web publishing software.
The media library in WordPress was discussed. Mullenweg admitted that it is confusing and gets difficult to manage once you have lots of images in the library. A man in the audience brought up a technical issue he had with the library. Mullenweg explained that you could actually do what the man wanted to in WordPress but stated:
The software is wrong, not the people. via – Joeflood
Indeed, Matt could have told the person the right way of doing it, instead he chose to say this statement! This is truly humble and shows his passion to make WordPress the best CMS in the world that people can use in the easiest ways. I say humble because WordPress is already the best CMS & easiest as well!
I must admit that Matt is indeed a true genius! When, I first met him @ WordCamp India, I was completely awed and couldn’t really have meaningful conversations with him about WordPress — I kind of feel sorry for that, however I hope that if I get to meet him again, then hopefully it’ll be more interesting
A small question by Satyam to Shridhar – “How much time is required to learn php?”
Shridhar to Satyam -
Lets say, God gives you power to make a girl and as we all know, greater powers come with greater
responsibilities clauses*… God puts a cap to the power that the amount of time you are going to spend in building the girl will be directly proportional to her beauty. Now, I’ve a question for you – How much time will you be spending to build that girl?
